- The TensCare Butterfly electrode pad is a non-invasive, external accessory intended for use in combination with approved transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulators (TENS) and electrical muscle stimulators (EMS). It is designed to safely transmit electrical currents through the skin surface to provide widespread symptomatic relief from acute or chronic pain, assist in muscle toning and rehabilitation, and temporarily enhance local blood circulation in adult home healthcare and clinical environments.
- How to Use
- 1. Thoroughly wash and dry the targeted skin area before application to remove any natural body oils, sweat, or moisturizing creams. 2. Connect the 2mm pin terminals of your device’s lead wires firmly into the pigtail sockets of the butterfly electrode pad. 3. Peel the pad away from the clear plastic release liner by lifting gently from the edge—never pull directly on the wire tails themselves. 4. Place the pad securely over the treatment area, such as across the lower back, pressing down firmly from the center outward to ensure complete surface contact. 5. Turn your control unit on, select your desired therapy programme, and gradually increase the intensity to an effective, comfortable level. 6. Once the session concludes, turn the device off completely, gently peel the pad off the skin, press it back onto the clear plastic liner, and seal it inside the airtight storage pouch.
- Hazards & Cautions
- Do not use this electrode pad if you have a fitted cardiac demand pacemaker, an implanted defibrillator, or any other internal electronic medical device, as electrical currents can cause equipment failure. Never apply the electrode pad to broken skin, open wounds, infected areas, active skin rashes, or directly over the front of the neck, temples, or eyes. Always ensure your TENS or EMS device is switched off completely before applying, adjusting, or removing the pad to prevent an accidental, unpleasant electrical jolt. Do not share your electrode pad with another person, as this is an individual medical accessory intended for single-patient use only to eliminate the risk of cross-contamination or skin infection. Avoid applying silicone, oil, or petroleum-based moisturizing lotions to the skin prior to application, as these substances will coat the hydrogel and permanently destroy its adhesive properties. Store the pad on its plastic backing sheet inside the sealed pouch in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme heat, and completely out of the reach of children and domestic pets.
