It is also designed to manage post delivery pain, including discomfort from episiotomies, perineal tears, or general post operative uterine contractions, to support overall postpartum recovery.
- How to Use
- Open the rear battery cover and insert the 2 supplied AA alkaline batteries, ensuring they are positioned correctly. 1. Plug the lead wires firmly into the top of the unit and connect the opposite ends to the 4 extra large electrode pads. 2. Place the electrode pads on your back as detailed in the user guide, positioning the top pair just below the bra line and the bottom pair across your lower back, ensuring clean and dry skin. 3. Press and hold the power button to activate the backlit screen, which will automatically start in programme 1, designed for the initial stages of labour. 4. Use the intensity buttons to slowly increase the stimulation across 60 available levels until you feel a comfortable, steady tingling sensation. 5. As labour advances, use the programme button to move to programmes 2 and 3. Press the handheld boost button at the start of a contraction to immediately change the pulse pattern for maximum relief, and press it again once the contraction passes to return to the background soothing level.
- Hazards & Cautions
- Do not use this maternity TENS unit before the 37th week of pregnancy unless under direct medical supervision, and never use it if you have a pacemaker or any other implanted electronic medical device. Do not place the electrode pads on the abdomen, the front of the neck, across the chest, or on any area of broken, irritated, or sunburned skin. If you experience unexpected or premature contractions before your full term, stop using the device immediately and seek advice from your midwife. Consult your doctor before using this device if you have epilepsy, a history of heart rhythm problems, or any undiagnosed pain conditions. Keep all components, including the neck cord, lead wires, and batteries, out of the reach of children and pets to eliminate the risk of accidental strangulation or swallowing. Store your maternity TENS kit inside the provided protective storage pouch in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, moisture, and extreme temperature fluctuations.
